How Telostream handles your account and watchlist data

Back to app

Short version

Telostream stores the information needed to sign you in and sync your TV watchlists across devices. It does not ask for or store passwords for Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+, Prime Video, or any other streaming service.

Information Telostream Stores

When you use Telostream, the app may store:

  • Your email address, through Supabase authentication
  • Your watchlist names, countries, selected services, and saved shows
  • Show metadata such as title, year, genre, service availability, and TMDb rating
  • Basic browser data kept locally so the app can remember your session and preferences

Information Telostream Does Not Store

  • Streaming-service usernames or passwords
  • Viewing history from streaming services
  • Payment information
  • Imported watchlists from Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+, or other streaming accounts

Services Telostream Uses

Telostream relies on a few third-party services to run:

  • Supabase for email sign-in and account sessions
  • Upstash Redis for synced watchlist storage
  • Vercel for hosting the website and API routes
  • TMDb for TV search, streaming availability, genres, show metadata, and ratings

Searches

When you search for a show, Telostream sends the search text to its own API and uses TMDb to find matching TV shows, availability data, and ratings. Telostream does not send your streaming-service passwords, payment information, or full watchlists to TMDb.

How Sync Works

When you are signed in, Telostream sends your watchlist data to its sync storage so your lists can appear on your other devices. If you are signed out, the app may still keep watchlist data in your browser's local storage on that device.

Your Choices

  • You can export your watchlist from Settings as a local backup file
  • You can import a backup file back into Telostream
  • You can delete your synced server data from Settings when signed in
  • You can sign out at any time from Settings

Data Deletion

The Delete synced data button in Settings clears the watchlist data stored for your Telostream account and signs you out. It does not delete any backup files you exported yourself, and it does not remove data from third-party services outside Telostream.
